History: Crossroads Christian School has been serving
South Valley families since 1975. Originally started as a Pre-School and Day Care, the school quickly became known in
the Morgan Hill community for providing a quality educational environment. Before long, the demand for a quality
private school in the South Valley, offering all the elementary grades, became clear. By the fall
of 1978, grades K-6 had been added. Grades 7 and 8 were added a few years later. The original name of the school
was South Valley Christian School. In 2001, The name was changed to Crossroads Christian School. We have been affiliated
with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) as a Member School since 1981.
Mission: Our mission is to see students: know what it means to have a relationship with
Christ, to demonstrate Christian Character, develop a strong academic foundation, and gain the knowledge and skills
necessary to make a difference in their world. As a ministry of Crossroads Christian Center, we focus on equipping
students to excel academically, spiritually and socially.
CCS Features: Small class size; Affordable
Tuition; Sibling Discounts; Caring teachers and staff, Extended Care program, Tutoring, Hot lunch, Computer classes for
all grades, Physical Education, Inter-Scholastic and Intra-Mural Sports, (Outstanding modern Gymnasium facility), Music
(Including Band) and Fine Arts. CCS Students routinely score at least one full academic year above grade level on
annual Stanford Achievement Tests.
Parents at Crossroads:
Parental involvement is highly encouraged. Parents who believe in our school are essential to the success of our program.
There are numerous opportunities to volunteer at the school including: Assisting the teacher with activities in the classroom,
field trips, school events, (such as our Mini-Olympics field day), Room Parents, Playground Parents, Art Parents, Library
Parents, and much more. Our Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF) provides exciting events for students and families, supports the
teachers in the classroom, and helps to raise funds for school improvements. Satisfied parents who are thrilled with their
student's progress are quick to recommend our program to their friends. Please contact the school office
if you would like to speak with one of our current parents about their experience at Crossroads.

Pre-Kindergarten - Our Pre-K program is truly a
Junior Kindergarten. All students attend full time, five days a week, from 8:30 A.M. until 2:50 P.M. There is a strong academic
component which includes a foundation for reading, using the A-Beka phonics based reading program. Academics take place in
a structured, fun, interactive and nurturing classroom enviornment each morning, with enrichment activites such as art,
music, P.E. and computers scheduled in the afternoon. Our Pre-Kindergarten students have separate recess times from other
CCS students. There is a daily rest time, although many of the students do not fall asleep during rest time.
Each Pre-K class has one teacher and an aide.
Kindergarten
- Our Kindergarten is a full time academic Kindergarten. Students are successful readers upon completion
of the school year, and are ready to progress in their reading skills in our First Grade class. We use the A-Beka phonics
program which gives students a strong reading foundation. Students are able to read books with one syllable words
on their own by completion of the program. Students also learn extensive math skills. By the time they graduate Kindergarten,
CCS students are able to count to 100, count by ones, fives and tens, have learned addition, have
been introduced to combinations, have been introduced to basic measurement skills, basic subtraction and can identify
coins and their value. Children are instructed in social studies and science, and have many opportunities for enrichment,
through art, music, P.E. and computer technology. We believe that each child has a unique learning style, and we tailor
our program to meet the needs of various types of learners. Kindergarten students attend school from 8:30
A.M. - 2:50 P.M. each day. A rest time is incorporated into the afternoon schedule.
Curriculum: At Crossroads, we utilize high quality
curriculum materials produced by a variety of leading publishers including: A-Beka, ACSI, Bob Jones, and CSI. For
our reading and language arts in grades K through 4, we use the A-Beka curriculum. Our math curriculum is published
by the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). In grades 5-8 we utilize a variety of high quality academic
curriculum from publishers that promote a Biblical world-view. Our reading program is phonics-based, and is introduced in
our Junior Kindergarten class. All CCS students take Bible as a daily class. In addition, Scriptural principles are integrated
within the academic program. All students, including Pre-K and Kindergarten, participate in weekly chapel services.
