From the Principal's Desk

Dear Parents & Students of CCS,

Unbelievable, we are already in the last month of school! May 28th will be the last day of this school year, early release is at 11:00 am. When I look back we had so many unknowns with the pandemic, but we not only survived, we are finishing with success! I am thankful to the Lord for his hand of protection over us. I am also thankful to our families for partnering with us to make this school year so successful. I know there were many new challenges this year, healthy only policy, COVID protocol, new schedules, rules, and requirements. It may have seemed like a bother at times but we stayed healthy & strong together. I would like to thank each one of you for your cooperation and commitment this year.

This last week the 5th Grade Class was unable to attend Hume Lake Science Camp in the mountains due to Covid restrictions. No problem! Mrs. Singleton & Mr. Van Gundy stepped up and put on a fantastic Science Camp at CCS. Each day started with a morning meeting complete with hot chocolate, then went into a study period, devotional message, and a wrap-up meeting.  The students had a jam-packed week. The areas of study were aeronautics, geology, pioneer day, wilderness survival, natural habitat/animals, meteorology, physics in nature, and group initiatives, we are to live in community with one another and point each other to Christ. A great big thank you to Mrs. Singleton & Mr. Van Gundy for all their efforts to make sure our students had a memorable learning experience.

Also thank you to Mrs. Honda for taking her class on an exciting trip to the Rock-N-Water in the Sierras for a Living History Camp. Fourth-grade parents were able to go along and enjoy this special time with their child. I heard they all had a great time learning about the Gold Rush.

Thank you very much for your appreciation you showed to the staff and myself during staff appreciation week!

End of the year fun! May 14th will be Principals Popsicle Day. After students eat lunch I will be passing out popsicles and ice creams on the grass as a treat for the students.  May 26th Class parties are happening. We plan o have a giant obstacle course that each class will enjoy. We will be sanitizing between each classes use, keeping with Covid protocol. It will be a day of celebrating a great school year. Of course, each classroom will be having special activities in their individual classes.

We will be celebrating the 5th-grade class with our Aloha Promotion Ceremony on May 27th at 5:30 pm. CCS is so proud of our 5th-grade class. We pray success for them as they move forward in their educational endeavor.

Hot Lunch
**Elementary School Only**
Make sure that your child knows to order lunch when their teacher takes attendance, first thing in the morning.  It's as easy as raising your hand and letting the teacher know which lunch choice that you wish for the day.  Lunches are available to Elementary students who have money on account or bring cash.

Monday-Super Grullense choices are bean & cheese burrito, cheese quesadilla, chicken tamale with water.
Wednesday--choices are Erik's Deli Kid's Meal 1/2 sandwich of Turkey, Roast Beef or Tuna with water and choice of chips. We have the option of ordering a full sandwich, (same meat choices as above), no chips with the full sandwich, due to the cost.
**Gluten free bread available for those who need it!!**
Friday-Mountain Mike's choices are cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza with water.
